SLI Korean language courses
Are you interested in enrolling in Korean language courses? If so, the Sungkyun Language Institute may have what you are looking for. For instance, our regular Korean program is recommended for international students who would like to obtain some hands-on experience while learning Korean. Examples may include students who are interested in a position that requires fluency in the Korean language, or students who wish to enroll in degree programs at Korean universities.
We provide our uniquely tied Korean linguistic programs at both the National Sciences Campus and the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus. It is important to note that there are some variations between the two campuses and the lessons that will be taught. For instance, the students at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus will experience the dynamics of Seoul while learning Korean. Students at the Natural Sciences Campus, on the other hand, will focus on learning Korean before they get a job or before enrolling in a degree program that requires fluent oral and written Korean. However, both offer six sessions a year at 8 weeks per session. Both also provide 6 different levels of Korean language courses, ranging from 1 (beginner) to 6 (advanced). Moreover, regular classes are mandatory, and will begin at 9:00 and end at 1:00 at both campuses.
Elective classes are also mandatory at both campuses and will begin at 1:00 and end at 3:00, 5 days a week. However, in terms of accommodations and location, the Natural Science Campus is located in Suwon and provides an on-campus dormitory, while the Humanities and Social Science Campus is located in Seoul and provides privately owned accommodations. Hence, if you would like to learn more about our Korean language courses, please refer to our overview page. We also provide accelerated 3-week courses for students who wish to learn basic Korean.
